This means, in effect, that all Internet-based transactions including sending and receiving emails - can now be carried out at the speed at which you do business, rather than at the speed of your phone line and modem.

Our ADSL service uses the latest telecommunications technology to give you high-speed Internet access over your existing infrastructure. ADSL takes advantages of new advances in communications technology, by effectively splitting your existing BT line into two. One segment is retained for existing telephone calls, and the other is dedicated to allowing high-capacity data to travel back and forth. The result is Internet access at roughly ten times faster than a standard modem dialup, and the ability to make and receive telephone calls at the same time .
